ALEJANDRA LOAIZA

Tears of the Moon

Editorial for Vogue Czechoslovakia online.

Inspired by "Los Aretes de la Luna" a song released in 1998, written by Jose Dolores Quiñones and performed by Vicentico Valdés from La Sonora Matancera.
Its melody carries us back to the Cuban romanticism of the early 20th century, its gentle notes and tender verses evoke a sense of nostalgia.

In certain Latin American indigenous legends, the moon embodies a divine and wistful presence, where her silver tears metamorphose into vibrant flower blossoms adorning the earth and enchanting earrings meticulously crafted by the native women 🌺
